Have You Waxed Lately?

I grew up shaving my legs. Nicks and cuts were my passage into womanhood. Truth be told, up until I was in esthetician school I was still shaving. But when I discovered the magic of waxing my legs it was a GAME CHANGER!

I usually have a boat load of events and activities that I have scheduled throughout the week so anything that can save me time I'm all for. Waxing is that for me, a time saver. Can you imagine having 4-6 weeks of not worrying about shaving your legs?!?! Not only do you have more time between hair removal but your hair grows back thinner with less irritation and no razor bumps. Now once you start waxing it’s best to keep waxing. If you shave in between wax appointments you pretty much start back at square one.

Here are some things to help you have a successful waxing experience:

  • Exfoliate - Exfoliating will remove dead skin and create a smoother surface for waxing. Remember to wait 3 days after waxing to exfoliate to avoid any irritation to the skin.

  • Hydrate - Hydration is key to keeping your skin happy and your hairs soft once they begin to grow back. Drink plenty of water and use a great body moisturizer daily.

  • Do not shave between waxing services. This will not only be counterproductive but you’ll also have to shave more often.

  • Schedule your next waxing appointment before you leave your esthetician. It’s easy to forget to reschedule once you leave the spa/studio. Don’t chance not getting the appointment you need, book in advance.

If you are considering leg waxing for the first time or thinking about trying it again, I hope this has been helpful. As with all post drop a comment below or any question you may have. And feel free to share this post with others.
